Vittles was definitely hampered by having Telekenesis as her one and only learned skill (she had 11 points in it by the end of the Act), but she found items along the way that lent her enough skills (Inferno, Chilling Armor, Ice Bolt) to get through the Act without a single death.

I've yet to discover anything about Telekenesis that leads me to believe I'll use it much if at all in the later stages of the game. Sometimes skills have hidden value that you don't realize until you play with them. This doesn't appear to be one of them. It pushes enemies back, but not all the time. It does damage, but not much. It opens chests and doors from a distance, but big deal. Here's hoping she doesn't roll Teleport as her second skill.

She was fortunate enough to find one unique and one set item in Act I, both of which she's equipping. Pics are below. Yeah, Arctic Binding is really no big deal, but in Normal, it's useful. Hotspur likely will keep her toasty until at least Act V. That Fire Resist will come in very handy in Act IV.

So far, so good, but the game hasn't challenged this character yet. I gotta say, I'm concerned. But I'll push forward and keep you posted!

Meet Vittles.

Hey there. Welcome to my log of Vittles, a Sorceress in Diablo II. I only play her at home, which means she doesn't get lots of play time. I mostly play D2 at work during lunch or when I just need a break. I have three small kids and a frisky wife at home, so I actually don't play much here. But when I do, I play Vittles.

Vittles was semi-randomly created using the random-number generator over at Random.org. I could go into the whole "rules" behind my semi-random process, but they're kinda detailed and boring. Maybe at some point I'll post them on a separate page for posterity.

I'm not gonna lie; Vittles kinda got the shit end of the stick on her first skill roll. She rolled Telekenesis. So now she has to max out Telekenesis before she can roll a second skill. She won't be able to do that until she hits Level 26. Sucks! She's going to have to fight Normal Diablo (in all likelihood) armed with a merc and a spell that maxes out at 20-21 damage. Ugh.

The good news is that she rolled an Act 2 Thorns merc. She can't pick him up until Nightmare, of course, so until then she gets a Rogue merc for Act I Normal, then an Act 2 Prayer merc, before getting her Thorns merc. That should help a lot for late-game struggles.

She just finished Act I Normal, so my next post will be about that. Oh, and here's a pic of her having just pwned Andariel's nipply ass. She's holding a staff that she just found. It gives her +1 to Chilling Armor - handy.
